Surviving the storm.....

Danny always says that you are either going into a storm, you are in one or you are coming out of one about to go into another one. I told him last week that I felt like we had just come out of a rain storm, were in a tornado and got thrown right into a hurricane!!!

Everyone (whether they want to admit it or not) goes through storms in their life. It's not about the storm, it's how you survive or come out of the storm. My resolve is even stronger today. I might be a little stubborn (no amens from you Danny), but I am not easily broken. I know that God has a greater plan than what I can see right in front of me for the things that we are going through right now.

On another note, we have been blessed this past week to have our nephew Jon come and live with us. I can't wait to see what God has in store for him.

Jon, my girls & Danny this summer

Jon has weathered some storms in his life, yet I still see his resolve. His mother passed away 11 years ago from cancer. Jon was sharing with me this week about reading his mom's journals. He said that she knew what she believed in. She not only knew what she believed in, she lived it out in front of everyone.

Today we received news of 2 kids that attended the school that Jon attended (which was the high school myself and my brother graduated from) that they were killed in a car accident last night. Jon and I sat around this afternoon and talked, hugged & cried (at least on my part). This is a small, close knit community. Please remember the families in your prayers.

My prayer is that as we go through the storm, that the Lord will "rain" down on us in the midst of everything that goes on. One word from Him can change everything!!!!

I'm looking forward to a great week and maybe, just maybe, getting a little rest too!!! Thanks to all of you who are praying, what a blessing you are to our lives.

I can't wait to hear from you my friends!!!! Love and blessings!!!

What a hansome addition to your family Jon is! He has ben through some trials poor dear! We will be praying for him in the loss of school mates. Coming from a very small commuity I so understand the closeness! My friend with breast cancer is doing well, but is very sick from the chemo. for a week after each RX and then a good wk. follows. She goes to my womens group and our sm. group Bible study. She is reading the Bible I gave her and we are doing the study together as she feels able. We are praying for she and her husband and he attended a men's breakfast with Wayne last Sat. and loved it! We continue to pray for you and your family! You are such strong and sweet witnesses.
