We need some clearer vision.....
I took sweet little Kylie to the Pediatric Opthamologist today for a follow up on our latest adventure in our quest to help correct her vision. We have been putting Atropine in her "good" eye to blur the vision so that she will have to work harder to use her "bad" eye. The Dr. had changed her eyeglass prescription a little over a month ago to also aid the situation.
I have been so concerned with her vision, I sometimes forget that God has everything in control. I was in the midst of such a pity party today in the waiting room while waiting for her name to be called. As I was sitting there, a little girl that was completely blind came in. I quickly teared up and thanked God for Kylie's vision that she does have and how far he has brought her.

Kylie last weekend at family reunion with her glasses and dilated eye. What a cutie!!!!!
Last year at the beginning of the year, her vision was at 20/400!!! Terrible!!! We got the vision in her "good" eye to be 20/25 (according to her Dr. today) with her glasses. However, the vision in the "bad" eye had been 20/200 at her visit about 6 weeks ago. Today her vision in that same eye was 20/80!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!! Of course, her vision in her "good" eye was not as good, but that was because of the dilation. The Dr. ran some tests and was pretty sure that her vision would still be at the 20/25 when we stop the drops. We are going to continue what we've been doing for another month and will check it again at that time. I am looking forward to more great results on our next visit so that Kylie will be able to start 1st grade with better vision so that she will have full opportunity to learn.
We have also had to work on the "lazy" eye to keep it straight and we did it get it to that point, but the Dr. said we will check it again after this treatment. Also, according to the Dr. there is a small piece of tissue (as she describes it) that is behind her eye (which is not normally there) and there is nothing that can be done about it medically. However, I am praying that God will "move" it. The Dr. has thought that this "tissue" has affected her vision also.
Please join in prayer with me for this sweet baby's vision. I sometimes get sidetracked with my own worry, but I have never doubted for one minute that God will completely heal her eyes. It has not been on my timetable or it would have been instantaneous, but I'm thankful that we have been able to celebrate milestones along the way, in HIS time. God is faithful and I thank Him for what He has and will do. I guess in some ways, I need a clearer vision too.
I can't wait to hear your thoughts!!! Thank you for joining in prayer with me my friends!!! I can't wait to give you another fantastic report after our next visit of all that the Lord has done!!!!!
