A face that shines
Yesterday, as a result of going to the ballgame (all afternoon), I ended up with a sunburn. My face and my neck especially got VERY red. Today as I ran into different people, that was the first thing that they noticed and of course, everyone commented on it. It's funny to hear people say, "Oh, you were out in the sun."
A sunburn is previous obvious on most people, right?
I was thinking today of how when Moses came down from Mt. Sinai and his face was shining.
Exodus 34:29 ESV When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God.
(This is from the English Standard Version - Danny just bought this version about a month ago and we both love it. )
Imagine if people could tell literally when we had been in the presence of the Lord because our faces were shining? What if all the time you spent in the word, praying, singing praises to the Lord, going to church, etc. caused your face to shine? Would you look like you had a "Son burn" or would people even know the difference?
I encourage you this week to spend time with Him and as Danny's mother used to always quote Numbers 6:24 (ESV) -24 The LORD bless you and keep you; 25 the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
My prayer is that people will be able to see and know when we have been in the presence of the Lord, maybe not by an appearance, but by our attitudes, the way we treat others and the way we show and share His love.
I can't wait to hear your comments!!

Cheryl, that was just beautiful! I only HOPE that people will be able to tell when I've been in the "Son." I love you DEARLY. Have a blessed day.
