There is nothing like family, Part 2
When I posted Part 1 on Monday, I had no idea what lie ahead for the week, thus the reason for the delay in posting another blog. I have more thoughts on family that I will express over time, but wanted to share what has been on my heart this week.
I am very fortunate that I am in my 30's and still have all 4 of my grandparents living. I am so blessed to have such a rich heritage. My Granddaddy & Granny (Dad's parents) have been married for 64 years. My Pawpaw & Memaw (Mom's parents) have been married for 57 years.
As I was growing up until around age 12, I was fortunate enough to live in the same town as my Granny & Granddaddy, so we were able to be around them quite a bit. I have so many fond memories of going over to their house and just getting to be with them. On Tuesday this week, I received a call that Granny was in the hospital, she had a heart attack. I had the privilege of getting to go and see her in the ICU. I was able to spend some time with her and it was such a blessing. She seemed to respond well to the medicine and was very alert and was talkative. When I walked in on Tuesday evening, she told me that I was a sight for sore eyes!!! I love it. Even though Granny is in her 80's now and is not as strong as she used to be, she's still my sweet Granny. She still has the same sweet smile and you feel love just being in her presence. Granddaddy takes such good care of her, even when he isn't feeling so well. They both have been a source of strength to me over the years.

Granddaddy & Granny
My Pawpaw & Memaw lived in Panama while I was growing up, so I was not able to see them very often. However, I still have a strong connection with them. My Pawpaw loves to tell jokes and "kid around". I remember so many times just sitting around laughing. I have many fond memories of time spent with them as well. Memaw loves to cook and share her recipes, these are such great memories. They too are a blessing to my life.

Memaw & Pawpaw
There are lots of things that I appreciate about both sets of Grandparents. I appreciate that all of them love the Lord and have lived their lives in honor of Him. They raised their families to be Christ centered and for that I am grateful. I appreciate their love, concern, prayers and wisdom. So to you, Granddaddy and Granny, Pawpaw & Memaw, for all the times I never said it, but meant it with all my heart, I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
Take the time today to let your family know how much you love them. If they don't live near, take the time to pick up the phone and call, and yes, I promise to be better at that.
By the way, I got to see other family this week also, and although the circumstances were not the greatest, it was still such a joy to see them. I had opportunity to spend time with my brother and his wonderful family, it was great. (Thank you Rusty & Sasha for the hospitality!!)
Thank you all for your prayers this week, Granny is resting at home and is recovering. I LOVE your comments. Let me hear your thoughts!!

This tribute to your grandparents was awesome! You are so fortunate and blessed to have had the opportunity of having all four grandparents in your life for all these years. Be sure to enjoy every minute you get to spend with them. I know they all love you so much, as I do.
