That's a classic....

That's a classic, that is what we say when the kids do something totally hilarious that we know we won't forget anytime soon. We had one of those such moments tonight.

During our devotion time, I always love when the little girls raise their hands to add their comments to our discussion. It is such a joy to watch their eyes light up and to see them get excited to share. Danny was talking tonight about how we give to others of ourselves. Kylie raised her hand and when Danny called on her, she said that we could be nice and pray for them, we could be nice and we could have a garage sale and give them some stuff. Too funny!!! Here we were in such a serious moment and she said that, I had to choke back the tears and maintain so we could continue. I love moments like this. It wasn't 2 minutes later when we were talking about how God gave his only son because He SO loved us. I could tell that they were getting it, their eyes became misty and they talked about what a great big sacrifice that was and how they were glad that Jesus died for our sins.

I love my girls, all of them. We are enjoying have Jon visit with us and sharing his thoughts with us during devotion.

I am looking forward to many, many more "classic" moments with my family. Do you have moments like that where you enjoy "classics" with your family? I can't wait to hear your thoughts and comments!!!!

The strains of the ever changing economy.....

Today Danny received a message from a dear friend of ours that he had lost his job.  Someone that I work with had 2 members of their family without jobs at the same time. It seems as if there is more and more of those type of situations all around.

I am thankful for my job and my husband's job. Praise God for his provision!!! He has always provided for us and I am so thankful for the blessings!!

Please remember to pray for these dear ones without jobs. It is tough enough right now with the soaring gas and food prices without the strain of losing income.

Thank you for standing with me in prayer for these friends and their families. I am looking forward to your thoughts!! Have a great week!!

There's no place like home........

Danny & I are back from vacation and let me tell you that there is NO place like home. I LOVE my life with my husband and my kids. I am most happy when we are all together and at home. I missed the kids SO much!!!

I promise to get back on track with my blogging in a day or so. After 15 hours of traveling, delayed flights and torn up luggage, I am WORE out. Today I got some of the laundry done and got the grocery shopping done and let me tell you, that was a job.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a great week. Our nephew Jon is here again with us. Just when I think I am still a "little bit" cool, I have him and Kelsey to make fun of me and bring me back to reality. HA!!!!

I love you all very much. Thank you for your friendship and love. I look forward to your comments. Have a blessed Sunday!!!!

There are not enough hours in the day.....

Do you ever have one of those days where there are not enough hours in the day? If you are a mom, I'm quite sure that you have experienced many of these kind of days. Not only is Abby home this week, but our nephew Jon is here with us visiting from Waco.

I went to work this morning and then I came home and ate a quick bite. After that I recruited Jon and Kelsey to help me work on the garage. Kelsey & I have been working on it for a while off and on for several months. We finally gave a bunch of stuff to Goodwill and have slowly been going through old papers, etc. and getting rid of a bunch of junk!!! We have lived in this house for over a year, so it's about time. There is no telling how many times we have moved some of the junk. When we went on vacation to Aruba, there was a hail storm and bad weather. Of course, our car was in the driveway instead of the garage as there was no room for it. We ended up with over $5,000 worth of damage. So, we decided it was time to get it cleaned out. All 3 of us worked for 3 1/2 hours getting it cleaned up. We did leave some stuff for Danny, however, what was left was beyond what we could do.

Since it was 100 degree weather, we were all ready to hit the pool. I took all 4 of the kids up to the pool for a little over an hour. We then came home and Danny had made it home from work and was working on the garage. We helped him finish and we were all so proud!!!! It looks great and it was a REAL accomplishment. And yes, the car is in the garage. We started watering the yard and thanks to Jon and Kelsey moving the hoses, we got that all done also.

I think that the little girls ended up eating dinner around 9:15 (bad mother!) and were in bed at 10:00 (yikes!). I ended up eating dinner at 10:15 and worked on laundry until 11:00. And yes, I managed to watch the basketball game for a short time while folding laundry. Boston won, what more do I need to say?!!! (I'll have to tease my brother, I think he was going for the Lakers!)

I jumped in the bathtub and now here I am at 11:30 working on my blog. I am tired and should have been in bed at least 30 minutes ago. I still have laundry going both in the washer and dryer. I am tired, but feel accomplished. And I get to start all over in the morning.

On days like today, there is not much time for a big long Bible study. However, the Bible does say to pray without ceasing. I pray all throughout the day. I'm sure there a lot of others like me, I pray while at work, I pray in the car, while doing laundry, cooking dinner, etc., etc. I thank God that He is never too busy for us and it doesn't matter when and where we call out His name, He hears us!!!!!

It looks like tomorrow is going to be another fast paced day, so I better get some rest. I love you all and can't wait to hear your thoughts!!! Your comments are such a blessing and I love the feedback!! Have a blessed day!!!!

Lord make us whole....

Danny preached a wonderful sermon on Sunday Morning entitled Lord make us whole as part of the One Prayer series. I really enjoyed it. It is our message at Oasis Church, the message of being made whole through the blood of Jesus. Wholeness is a promise of Grace. There was a powerful anointing with this message. I thank God for it!

I'm looking forward to the other messages in this series and I hope that you can join us this Saturday evening for the next message. It is exciting to see how God moves through the power of prayer.

I hope you all had a great Father's day!! We had a great day spending time with family and eating some good food.

I pray that you have a blessed week. I can't wait to hear your thoughts. I REALLY look forward to your comments!!!!

Happy Father's Day!!!

I love being with my family. There is nothing better than watching my girls being with their dad. I am so proud of him, he is such a great father to our girls! It's amazing to watch the interaction that he has with each one and the way they each respond to him. I cherish those memories and I know our girls will also.

Danny and the girls swimming today.

I want to wish a Happy Father's Day to all the other "fathers" in my life.
My dad - He is on a mission trip to Brazil right now, I will miss getting to talk to or see him tomorrow. Remember to pray for him.
My father-in-law - Pop, I love you. Thanks for all the great times we share together and for raising Danny up to be the man that he is today.
My grandfathers - Granddaddy & Pawpaw - I love you both very much and am so blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for your Godly example.
Bill - You are an unexpected gift in our lives. Thanks for loving us.

We will get to see Mom and Bill tomorrow as well as spending time with Danny's family. I hope you all have a great Father's Day. I can't wait to hear your thoughts!!!!

My husband makes me laugh!!!!!!

Danny has been so funny tonight, I mean he is really on a roll!!!!

I had done some yard work and when I came in the house, he was watching the basketball game. He told me that the game was already over because the Lakers were ahead by 20 points. I told him to have faith and he told me there is no way, it's over.

So, as I told you before, I don't really care for basketball except for the finals. I enjoyed the game tonight. I hollered for Boston (and I've told you about the strategy of how I decided to support them) while Danny pretty much ignored the game until the last couple of minutes.

The commentators stated that the Lakers fans were "stunned" and that is when Danny started in on his "smack" talking. I have been cracking up!!!! He said, "Poor little stunned fans." He is too funny. He is on the band wagon now!!!

I don't know about you, but I am happy tomorrow is Friday!!! I hope you have had a great week!!! Keep up the comments, I love them!!! Have a great Friday!!!!!

Happy Birthday Kylie!!!!!

Today was Kylie's 6th birthday!!! It is so hard to believe that she is already 6, the time has gone by so fast. Danny was off work today and I worked till noon. This afternoon we all spent the day together and we had a wonderful time. Kylie wanted to go to Build A Bear to get a new doll. She ended up with a "tan" Hello Kitty doll, her name is Wendy.

Kylie and Wendy

We had a great time today celebrating Kylie's day, and as she would say it, Juneth 11th. Too funny!!! We get to celebrate her birthday on Sunday with Danny's family; my brother-in-law and niece also celebrate their birthdays this week. We are looking forward to that celebration. We will have a party with her friends, probably in July, so tonight we only had a "small" cake.

Danny and Kylie

I thank God for my Kylie. She has brought so much joy to our home. We have seen God do the miraculous in and through her. I can't wait to watch her grow. Join with me in prayer that her vision will continue to get better. The Lord has done a work in those little eyes and I know that he will continue it to completion. She is such a sweetie and has such a sweet spirit about her, I believe that she has a lot of her Granny Williams in her.

I love you Kylie and can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for you!!!!

Random weekend thoughts.....

First of all, where did the weekend go? I can't believe tomorrow is already Monday.

We are sitting here watching the basketball game and I am so excited that Boston is winning. I thought that the LA fans were rude to San Antonio, they were booing and everything so that is how I decided to support Boston. I guess I made a good pick and I guess you can tell that I REALLY don't care too much about basketball. My sport of choice is FOOTBALL BABY!!!!! I LOVE FOOTBALL!!! and yes I am counting down the days. And for any of you who feel led by the Lord to give Danny & I tickets to a UT game, we would HUMBLY accept them. HA HA!!!!!

My dad was leaving today for a mission trip to Brazil, please remember him and the team in your prayers. They are returning on the 19th.

I had some CRAZY dreams last night!!!! I kept trying to wake myself up out of it and every time I went back to sleep I started right back dreaming crazy again. I hope I get some GOOD sleep tonight.

I feel it, God is up to something big. I can't wait to see His plan unfold. I am excited to see what is going to do with this ministry. For those of you who haven't been here lately, we've missed you!!!! It is exciting to see lives touched and changed for His glory.

Thanks to everyone who has commented on the blog, either literally, in person, over the phone or by e-mail. I am so thankful that the Lord has given me this outlet to share. I in turn have been so blessed by your responses. I thank God for each of you!!!! Thank you for joining with me!!!!

I warned you by the title, this is just random thoughts. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to a GREAT week. I can't wait to see how God moves. He is SO faithful!!! What are you looking forward to this week? I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

Graduation Day.....

What an exciting time of year!!! As I shared on a previous blog, our "baby" Kylie graduated from Kindergarten. Last night we had the opportunity to celebrate our niece's graduation. Kayleigh Drews was a member of the 2008 graduating class of Riesel High School. Riesel is a small community about 15 minutes outside of Waco. My brother in law said that he thought there were around 47 or so in the graduating class. It was such a special ceremony, not only because our niece was graduating and received several scholarships, but also because there was a true sense of community, love and respect in that place.

From left to right: Paige, Melisa (Danny's sister), Landon, Kayleigh, Chris and Collin

I couldn't help but get teary eyed at the end of the ceremony when the graduates walked out side by side in groups of 2. When they met in the middle of the floor each group either hugged each other, shook hands, gave high 5's and some of the friends walked out holding hands. What a moment.

Abby & Kylie love all of their cousins. They really look up to Paige and Kayleigh, they have a special relationship. It was exciting to see the little girls watch their cousin move onto the next phase that life has for her. Abby was concerned that we would never see Kayleigh again.

Abby, Kayleigh & Kylie

We are so proud of Kayleigh's accomplishments and look forward to celebrating what the future holds for her.

I wanted to congratulate a few other graduates from the class of 2008.
Jenna Wixom - Midway High School - Jenna is my step sister.
Krysten Steed - Rosebud-Lott High School - Krysten is the daughter of Danny's best friend from high school.
Courtney Payne - Aledo High School - Courtney is the daughter of my cousin Michelle. (Neither one of us can be that old to have children in or graduating from high school. wink, wink)
Tori Williams - Port Neches - Groves High School - Tori is the daughter of my former youth pastors (Brent & DeLisa Williams). I can't believe that Tori is graduating, it seems like yesterday when she was a baby.
Also, Danny's cousin Shelly had both her kids graduate. Katie graduated from college and Zach graduated from high school.

We rejoice with these graduates and look forward to the future with them.

Have a great weekend!!! I look forward to your comments!!
